3 tips for getting your stories shared on Facebook

Check out Dan Zarrella’s blog as he sifts through social network data. Lately he’s been focusing on what gets shared on Facebook. Findings:
- Stories are shared more often on weekends. Details.
- Positive wording trumps negative wording for getting shared. “Sex” really sells the link. Details.
- Headlines with numbers are shared more often, which is why I didn’t spell out 3 in the headline. Details.

Short words, short sentences, no more than 220 words, celebrity names, scantily-clad models, and risque keywords.

Aslong as you have something interesting (like promoting a free ipod) and a few friends, you can get your info out to everyone.
I usually publish something, then ask 5/6 friends to share the link with all of their friends, that easily brings in a couple of thousand views - more if it’s reshared multiple times.
