NEW! Total Community Coverage Series
About the Seminar
The Knight Digital Media Center has published a special six-part series on
Total Community Coverage, explaining what news organizations can do to reach commonly overlooked groups differentiated by language, income, ethnicity, education, location, culture, age, and more. These strategies blend traditional, digital, and mobile media with practical community outreach skills.
Fellowships were provided for 20 online journalists for this special seminar focused on helping news organizations understand the impact of changing demographics on their audience and their content. Topics included:
- The latest research on how various demographic groups engage with the internet.
- The keys to ensuring your content reflects the interests and voices of all of your community members.
- The different tools available for engaging your audience in a “conversation” and building social networks.
- The Fault Lines that should inform content development and editorial decision-making.
