Cory Haik is the senior producer of interactivity and projects at seattletimes.com. Before seattletimes.com, she was the managing editor of NOLA.com, an online affiliate of The Times-Picayune in New Orleans from 2000 to 2007. In joint coverage with Times-Picayune, at NOLA.com Haik was part of the online news team awarded a Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News and Public Service of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. In addition, she is a recipient of the Online Journalism Award for Breaking News, the 2005 Knight-Batten Award for Public Service for her Web site’s blog “Cries for Help,” which provided real-time aid to victims in need of rescue during Hurricane Katrina, as well as a recipient of the New Orleans Press Club Award for Breaking News and Internet Innovation. Haik received a bachelor of arts in mass communication from Nicholls State University and a master’s degree in communication theory from the University of New Orleans.
