Paul Stankavich is general manager of Pacific Public Media, the department at Pacific Lutheran University that operates KPLU-FM and Jazz24 online in Seattle. Pacific Public Media has implemented a long-range vision to become an international content provider of public radio programming. Before coming to Washington in 2007, Stankavich served as general manager of Alaska Public Telecommunications in Anchorage. Before accepting the position in Anchorage, Stankavich managed KZAZ public radio in Bellingham, Wash. and led the merger of KZAZ with Northwest Public Radio. He has also managed TV and radio stations in Erie, Pa. and Bemidji, Minn.; and was the manager of an award-winning instructional TV production house in Menomonie, Wis. Currently, Stankavich serves as president of Western States Public Radio, is a member of the PLU Advancement Council and is past president of the Board of Alaska Public Broadcasting, Inc. He has served on numerous advisory and governing boards including the Governor's Task Force on Literacy and was a board member and Youth Exchange Officer for the Rotary Club in his home communities. Stankavich received a distinguished alumnus award from his alma mater, Bowling Green State University in Ohio, and has completed post-graduate work in media at UW-Stout in Menomonie, Wis.
