Traci Bauer is managing editor/multimedia and innovation at the (Rochester, N.Y.) Democrat and Chronicle, where she has worked since March 2004. In her role, Bauer oversees the online, technology, photo, video, graphics and data staff as well as the multimedia partnerships. She heads up efforts to engage the under-40 audience for the Democrat and Chronicle, including niche sites and publications targeting this group, and is a member of the company's operating committee and innovation team. Before joining the Democrat and Chronicle, Bauerwas assistant managing editor/multimedia at Florida Today, on the Space Coast of Florida. She joined Florida Today in June 2001 as the night city editor. Bauer started her career in Springfield, Mo., where she worked for 10 years as a reporter, assistant features editor, business editor and online editor. She served on loan to USA Today in 1998 and is a graduate of Missouri State University.
