Howard I. Finberg is director of Interactive Learning at the Poynter Institute and directs News University. Has been in journalism for 30 years, including the Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle and The Arizona Republi. He was the Presidental Scholar at Poynter in 2002; joined Poynter full-time in 2003. Finberg also founded and was managing director of Finberg-Gentry, the Digital Futurist Consultancy to provide senior-level executives with strategic guidance and a better understanding of the technological changes that effect businesses online and offline and was named "New Media Pioneer" by NAA. Finberg has held management roles in newsrooms, technology, interactive-media, and corporate strategy. He also studies online media and the changing media habits of consumers and served as co-director of a yearlong study on Digital Journalism Credibility by the Online News Association, a multi-industry consortium of leading news professionals.
