New Nieman fellowship: short-term special projects for the future of journalism

by: Amy Gahran |

The Nieman Foundation is now accepting applications for a new short-term visiting fellowship for individuals working on special projects designed to advance journalism.

While the original Nieman Fellowship requires 10 months of study at Harvard, the new Nieman Visiting Fellowship is designed for individuals working on shorter-term projects who may not be able to spend an academic year at Harvard.

Anyone from anywhere around the world is welcome to apply, as long as you can demonstrate how your proposed project may aid the future of journalism by enhancing quality, building new business models or designing programs to improve journalism. The proposed project may be completed during the time spent at Harvard or be part of a larger undertaking.

All visiting fellows must reside in Cambridge, Mass. during their research period and, at the end, present findings to the Nieman community.

Learn more and apply now.
Deadline: Nov. 19, 2012

The News for for Digital Innovators blog is made possible by a grant to USC Annenberg from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
