by: Amy Gahran |

Next week in Miami, community leaders, tech experts and philanthropic organizations will explore how foundations can -- and are -- helping people get better informed about the issues that shape their communities. Here's how you can follow the action.

The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation's sixth annual Media Learning Seminar will provide new insights into the changing media landscape and emerging technologies. See real-world examples of how foundations are helping to fill local information voids. Sessions will include:

  • How can foundations get started, and what can they learn?
  • Collaborative efforts
  • Understanding your organization's role as a community leader
  • Using games for community engagement
  • Data as a public good
  • Working with local elected officials
  • …and much more

Live online coverage. Plenary sessions will be streamed live on Feb. 11-12.

All other sessions will be live tweeted. Follow the hashtag #infoneeds. See the full MLS schedule for session topics and times.
