Monday: How the IRS could help more news startups get nonprofit status

On Monday, March 4, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Council on Foundations will release a new report with recommendations for how the IRS could change its rules to make it easier for more digital news startups to achieve nonprofit status.

At 10 am ET Monday, they will livestream video of a panel discussion on this topic from the Newseum in Washington, D.C. Read the report and watch this event live.

The new report expands upon the June 2011 FCC report on the information needs of communities.
