Online Journalism Awards: entries now open

Today the Online News Association opened entries for the 2013 Online Journalism Awards -- a series of 29 awards that includes a total of $37,500 in prize money.

The OJAs focus on multimedia storytelling from both large and small news sites. Coverage from community news sites could fit into any of the categories, which include:

  • Breaking News
  • Planned News/Events
  • Explanatory Reporting
  • Topical Reporting
  • Online Commentary
  • Features
  • Student Projects
  • Gannett Foundation Award for Technical Innovation in the Service of Digital Journalism
  • Gannett Foundation Award for Innovative Investigative Journalism
  • Gannett Foundation Award for Watchdog Journalism
  • Knight Award for Public Service
  • General Excellence in Online Journalism

This year's awards are open to work published between June 16, 2012, and June 15, 2013. Entries must be available online for one year from date of submission.
