Knight News Challenge on health: applications now open
Today the Knight News Challenge on Health began accepting applications. During the next two weeks, anyone can submit a project with an answer to the question: "How can we harness data and information for the health of communities?" The Challenge brief elaborates upon this question.
Winners will receive a share of $2.2 million, plus additional support for their projects. (Here's how the News Challenge works.)
Over the last two weeks, during the inspiration phase of this Challenge, more than 100 community needs, success stories, data sources were submitted. If you want to apply, Knight recommends that you check out those resources and let them challenge your thinking. "If you haven't developed an idea yet, the inspirations can give your brainstorming a kickstart or offer models to implement in your own community."
APPLY NOW or comment on submitted project proposals.
Deadline: 5 p.m. ET Tuesday, Sept. 17. However, the earlier you submit your idea, the more time you will have for others to find it, critique it, share it and help you improve it. Knight offers tips for constructing your application.
