Knight Media Learning Seminar 2014: Register now

by: Amy Gahran |

Each year the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation gathers philanthropic and media leaders to explore how to localize the latest trends in news and information. The Media Learning Seminar (Feb. 16-18, Miami) is specifically for community foundations, place-based foundations and media organizations seeking partners to help inform and engage their communities.

Presenters at the top of their fields will help explore trends and challenges, as well as what has worked (or not). Speakers and topics include:

  • Opening government: from data to action. Alberto Ibargüen (Knight Foundation president and CEO), and Waldo Jaquith (Knight News Challenge fellow, former White House OSTP hacker, and web developer).
  • Data visualization and beyond! How data really matters to making change happen. Lucy Bernholz (visiting scholar, Stanford Univ.), and Jake Porway (founder, DataKind)
  • Understanding your audience. Todd Cunningham, director, Media Impact Project at the Lear Center

REGISTER NOW. Note: Registration is open only to representatives of community and place-based foundations.
