Community journalism fellowship at Harvard: Apply by Jan. 31
One of the nation's most prestigious journalism fellowship programs includes a spot for one fellow per year to focus on community journalism. There are just a little over two weeks left to apply for this unique opportunity.
The Reynolds Fellowship in Community Journalism is awarded each year to "a journalist of accomplishment and promise who is committed to the role of the community press."
The focus is on supporting journalists who cover smaller communities. This annual fellowship is open to "journalists who are U.S. citizens and who work at a U.S. daily and weekly newspapers with a circulation less than 50,000 and journalists doing online work for community newspapers or journalists who have established independent local news websites in communities where the circulation of the local newspaper is less than 50,000."
Apply now. Deadline: Jan. 31.
This community journalism fellowship is made possible through a grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation. It's part of the Nieman Fellowships for Journalism at Harvard program, which offers stipends and allowances, access to Harvard classes and programs, special weekly seminars and more. U.S. applications for all Nieman fellowships are also due on Jan. 31.
