New grants for digital news entrepreneurs age 50+
Digital media innovators age 50+ may apply for a $12,000 startup grant to fund a digital news project in 2015. Four grants are available through J-Lab's new Master Mediapreneurs Initiative.
With an engrained for consuming quality news, J-Lab believes that Baby Boomers are uniquely positioned to offer valuable insight on ways to bring high standards to new media projects.
According to J-Lab most U.S. Baby Boomer entrepreneurs display a strong desire to have a local over national impact, say they need less than $50,000 overall to get started in their venture, and seek to create a sustainable business model where they made less than $60,000 per year. Personal savings may also factor into the creation of their projects.
