[Portland workshop] Community Engagement: Digital Strategies for Local Funders

The Knight Digital Media Center, in partnership with Grantmakers of Oregon and Southeast Washington, Oregon Public Broadcasting, and Oregon Community Foundation, presents a unique two-day workshop exploring how community foundations can better engage the public around issues they care about by using new digital tools and best practices.

Among the presenters:

  • Beth Kanter, a nationally recognized expert in social media strategy for nonprofit organizations and an author of The Networked Nonprofit and Measuring the Networked Nonprofit.
  • Lee Rainie, Director of Pew Internet & American Life Project, a research center that examines people’s online activities, the internet’s role in their lives and what it means to local communities and community institutions.
  • Amy Gahran, a media consultant and mobile specialist who covers mobile technology for cnn.com and entrepreneur.com.
